Fujifilm Turns Q2 Profit

Tokyo – Fujifilm reported a revenue increase and posted a
profit in its fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30.

The company reported revenues of 1,105.3 billion yen in the
quarter, a 5.9 percent increase over the prior year’s fiscal second quarter.
And Fujifilm turned around last year’s 5.4 billion yen loss with a profit of
40.3 billion yen.

In its Imaging Solutions unit consolidated revenue for the quarter
sales were 166.1 billion yen down 2 percent year on year while its operating
income was 2 billion yen, a turnaround from the prior year’s 7.7 billion yen
loss.

Sales were reportedly strong in China and India, but in the
U.S. Fujifilm said “economic conditions were gradually recovering” but the
weakness of the recovery makes “future trends difficult” to predict.
