Century City, Calif. – Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment said it will release in December five additional movie titles in the new Blu-ray Disc high-definition format.
The new titles will include “The Devil Wears Prada,” which will be released day and date with the DVD on Dec. 12. The day-and-date release will follow the studio’s first day-and-date title “Ice Age The Meltdown,” which appears Nov. 21.
Each of Fox’s BD releases carry $39.98 suggested retail prices.
Other slated December BD titles include “From Hell,” starring Johnny Depp; “Flight of the Phoenix” and “Rising Sun,” starring Sean Connery, all of which will street on Dec. 5.
The fifth planned BD title “Transporter 2,” is scheduled for release on Dec. 26.
“From Hell” will be packaged on a new dual-layer (50GB) BD disc, and will be authored in BD-Java with AVC (MPEG-4 compression) and DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. Extras include commentary by directors Albert Hughes and Allen Hughes, screenwriter Rafael Yglesias, cinematographer Peter Deming and star Robbie Coltrane. Also added are 21 deleted scenes with optional commentary by Hughes.
“Flight of the Phoenix” will be authored in HDMV with MPEG-2 compression with DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. Extras include commentaries by John Moore, John Davis, Wyck Godfrey and Patrick Lumb, and selectable HD trailers of upcoming BD releases.
“Rising Sun,” will be authored in HDMV with AVC compression and DTS HD Lossless Master Audio and features HD trailers of upcoming BD releases.
“The Devil Wears Prada” will be authored in HDMV with MPEG-2 compression and DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. Extras include a commentary by director David Frankel, producer Wendy Finerman, costume designer Patricia Field, screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, editor Mark Livolsi and director of photography Florian Ballhaus, plus special trivia track pop-ups, gag reel, 15 deleted scenes with optional commentary by Frankel and Livolsi and HD trailers for upcoming BD releases.
“Transporter 2” will be authored in HDMV with MPEG-2 compression and DTS HD Lossless Master Audio. It will include a host of selectable HD trailers.
