Former Thiel Executives Join Magnet Company

Louisville, Ky. — Quadrant Solutions, a supplier of permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies, appointed former Thiel Audio executives Kathy Gornik and Dawn Cloyd to identify additional opportunities for the company in the consumer electronics industry.

Gornik co-founded Thiel Audio and was responsible for the company’s direction and marketing strategy. She also served on multiple boards and committees for the Consumer Electronics Association and others. She sold Thiel in November 2012.

“Quadrant has a lot to offer anyone in our industry who uses permanent magnets or magnetic assemblies of any kind,” Gornik said. The company also provides R&D resources for new product development, she noted.

Cloyd, who worked with Gornik for more than 12 years at Thiel, said she sees “great potential to increase [Quadrant’s] already impressive list of customers in the CE industry.

Quadrant is a U.S.-based company with more than 20 years in the magnet industry, specializing in magnetic materials and finished assemblies worldwide.
