Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) is hosting its first Digital Patriot dinner “to pay tribute to 80 years of technology and innovation,” by honoring the inaugural class of Digital Patriots on Tuesday, March 15, at the Washington D.C. Convention Center.

The event will feature leaders from the CE industry, including the inaugural class of “Digital Patriots, all known for their support of technological innovation,” CEA said. The honorees are: outgoing FCC Chairman Michael Powell; Senator George Allen, R-Va.; Congressman Darrell ISSA R-Calif., and Congressman Rick Boucher, D-Va.

The Grammy-nominated Del McCoury Band, sponsored by Sirius Satellite Radio, will perform at the dinner. The Digital Patriots dinner also will feature the International CES’ Best of Innovations 2005 honorees.

The reception will start at 6:30 p.m., with the dinner starting at 7:30 p.m., at the Convention Center’s Ballroom A. For more information visit www.ce.org/digitalpatriots.

CEA noted that this dinner “bridges two important CEA events at the Washington Convention Center:the HDTV Summit (Tuesday, March 15), and IP and Creativity: Redefining the Debate Conference (Wednesday, March 16).”For more information on these events visit http://www.ce.org/events.
