Toronto, Canada — Fidelity Electronics announced today that it will jump into the U.S. digital photo frame market with two models.
The DPF-8000F, $249.99 suggested retail, features an 8-inch TFT LCD screen and accepts CompactFlash (CF), SD, xD, MMC, Memory Stick and SmartMedia memory cards. It can support images up to 12 megapixels in resolution in addition to video in the MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 formats and MP3 music files. The 8000F offers built-in speakers.
The DPF-5600F, $199.99 suggested retail, is a 5.6-inch frame offering the same memory card support (minus xD) without the multimedia capabilities of the 8000F. It can display images up to 10 megapixels.
Both models ship in June.
