New York – Entourage expects to ship its Pocket Edge dual
touchscreen tablet by January, the company said.
The device’s two displays fold out, giving it the appearance of a
book. The left-hand display is a 6-inch E Ink panel for reading e-books, while
the right side has a 7-inch color touchscreen for accessing the web and other
applications.
The device runs on the Android 1.6 and Linux operating systems.
Connectivity is handled via 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. Other features are 3GB of onboard
memory, a 2-megapixel camera, USB port, touchpad and a MicroSD slot.
It is selling for $399 on the Home Shopping Network. The company
is also focusing its efforts on the education market.
