Energy Star Awards Bestowed On Industry’s Leading Lights

Washington – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) honored more than 100 businesses and
organizations at a 2012 Energy Star Awards ceremony here yesterday.

Recipients, which included retailers and CE and majap
manufacturers, were recognized for their outstanding contributions to reducing
greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency.

Top honors went to Sears Holdings, which received the Energy Star
Corporate Commitment Award for superior achievements in energy efficiency spanning
the breadth of the Energy Star program.

Recipients of the Energy Star Award for Sustained Excellence
included Bosch Home Appliances, GE Appliances, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Panasonic Home
& Environment and Whirlpool.

Energy Star Partners of the Year included LG Electronics, Samsung
Electronics and Staples.

Energy Star Award for Excellence recipients included DirecTV, the
Nationwide Marketing Group and Sharp Electronics.

Energy Star is a joint program the EPA and the DOE created to
help the nation save money and protect the environment through energy-efficient
products and practices.
