Encore Automotive Systems announced that its E2 remote-start system is now
shipping for $199.
Encore first entered the
remote-start category over the summer, and in an
, hinted at
the products it was planning. The E2 is geared toward users who want a remote
starter but don’t necessarily need car security functions, John Fernandez,
executive VP, said.
The E2 has two
four-button remotes that feature blue LEDs for lock, unlock, trunk/hatch
release and remote start. According to the company, it has half a mile range by
using 433MHz frequency and ASK long-range technology.
A two-way
data port for connection to plug-and play interfaces from iDataLink is
included. Other features include five onboard relays, Molex connectors,
dual-polarity lock wires and factory alarm-control connections.
