Los Angeles – CE supplier Ematic launched its second Android
4.0 tablet, the $219-suggested model eGlide XL Pro 2 with Wi-Fi.
The 10-inch tablet features a 1GHz processor, 400MHz
graphics processor unit, 1GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 5GB of Cloud storage
and a MicroSD Card slot supporting 32GB memory cards. It joins the 7-inch
eGlide Prism with Android 4.0. It became available last month at $157.
Ematic makes a variety of CE devices, including MP3 players,
e-readers, cameras and digital photo frames. Its value-priced tablets are sold
through such online retailers as Walmart, Amazon, ShopNBC and J&R.
The new tablet comes with such preinstalled apps as the Kobo
e-reader app and EDAN (Ematic Digital Assistant & Navigator), which uses
voice-to-text technology to let users search on the web for such things as
restaurant locations and movie times. EDAN also lets users dictate emails,
Facebook messages and tweet so they don’t have to type on the onscreen
keyboard.
The eGlide XL Pro 2 accesses the Ematic App Shop for
downloading additional apps.
The new tablet stores 1080p HD video and games for playback
on connected HDTVs via its HDMI Mirroring feature. The tablet also features three-axis gyroscope
and accelerometer, front-facing camera and voice recorder.
