Dual Motorized Head Offers iPhone/iPod Certification

Port Washington, N.Y. – Heathrow, Fla. –

Dual

launched its
first motorized
stereo head unit certified by Apple for use with connected iPhones, not just
with connected iPods.

The
new unit joins stereo head
units from
Dual with
motorized faceplate and iPod-only
certification, a spokeswoman said.

 The single-DIN, single-CD XDMA 7650 at a
suggested $199 features direct USB control and charging of iPods and iPhones as
well as a 3.5mm front-panel minijack to play music from other portable devices.
The head unit features LCD display and control buttons on the front of the
faceplate, which slides down and angles up for easy viewing and use. When the
faceplate slides down, a second larger LCD screen comes into view.

 The
unit’s CD
player is compatible with MP3/WMA/CD-R/RW discs.

Other features include three RCA preamp
outputs, wireless remote and compatibility with a separately sold PAC SWI-PS
adapter that lets users seek through radio stations and control volume from the
steering wheel.

The
company offers multimedia
A/V receivers and in-dash navigation units with motorized faceplates and USB ports, but those ports aren’t
iPhone/iPod-certified, the spokeswoman said.
