DirecTV Moves To Nasdaq

New York — Top management of digital satellite television service provider DirecTV were invited to the ring the opening bell to start the day of trading on the Nasdaq Exchange Monday.

The occasion celebrated DirecTV’s decision to switch its listing from the New York Stock Exchange to the more technology-centered Nasdaq.

On hand for the event were DirecTV CEO Chase Carey and Bruce Churchill, DirecTV Latin America and new enterprises president.

After the start of trading, the company moved the festivities out to the street where a marching band and DirecTV cheerleaders were on hand to not-so-subtly proclaim the move.
