DIRECTV Boosts Security With New Cards

El Segundo, Calif. - DIRECTV will start issuing new access card this week to bolster ensure the security for the transmission.

This fourth-generation card will come with an instruction card and customers will be told to discard their old card.

'By developing a new generation access card that strengthens the DIRECTV System's security, we continue to take aggressive steps to curb piracy and protect our intellectual property as well as the interests of our customers, retailers and programmers,' said Roxanne Austin, president and COO, DIRECTV.
