DigitalLife Kicks Off Thursday

New York — The DigitalLife lifestyle technology event will kick off Sept. 27 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, here.

The event, running Sept. 27-30, will have about 200 exhibitors covering 250,000 square feet of floor space and will feature keynote addresses from Intel and Microsoft executives, eBay University seminars and a variety of gaming pavilions.

Phil McKinney, Hewlett-Packard’s VP and chief technical officer, personal systems group, will take the stage at 10 a.m. and give attendees an idea about what is going on at HP Labs.

Joe Belfiore, Microsoft’s entertainment devices VP, will follow with a keynote address at 11:15 a.m. He will talk to the crowd about Microsoft’s vision of how PCs and TVs can connect to share data and entertainment.

At 2 p.m. on Sept. 27 Colin Angle, co-founder and CEO of iRobot, will describes his vision for the role of robots in society and demonstrate their roles today in millions of homes worldwide.

The final keynoter, Sept. 28 at noon, will be Jeff Belk, strategy and market development senior VP for Qualcomm. Belk will share his observations on the state of the digital life in Asia and Europe, along with his personal observations of the challenges and benefits of ‘staying connected’ as a global traveler that he experienced during a recent 110-day, worldwide trip he took with his family.

The gaming pavilion will take up about 10,000 square feet of show space and will host the Third Annual DigitalLife Pro-Am Gaming Tournament, produced by the Global Gaming League and sponsored by Alienware, Dell and Headplay.

The eBay University seminars will be held each day of the show and cover everything from how to get started to using the online selling platform for a business.
