Digital Foci Intros Portable Digital Album

Los Angeles — Digital accessories company Digital Foci introduced a portable digital photo album last week capable of storing and displaying digital images in addition to MP3 music files.

Called the Picture Porter, the hard disk-based player will be available in 20GB and 40GB capacities for a suggested retail price of $399 and $469, respectively.

Photos can be viewed, rotated, panned or played in a slideshow on a 2-inch color LCD screen. The Porter can also display a photo’s EXIF data and connect to a TV. A Lithium-Ion battery powers the unit for 3.5 hours of video viewing and up to 7.5 hours of music play-back.

The Picture Porter is compatible with CompactFlash Type I and II, &?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />&st1:address>&st1:Street>Micro Drive&/st1:Street>, &st1:City>SmartMedia&/st1:City>, &st1:State>SD&/st1:State>&/st1:address>/MMC, miniSD, and Memory Stick (including PRO and Duo). It connects to a PC via USB 2.0.

The Porter can display JPEG and RAW image files and MP3, WMA, ACC, and WAV music files. It also supports MPEG, MPEG-4, and DivX 5.x video formats.&?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />&o:p>&/o:p>

It will ship with Ulead’s Video Toolbox 2 for editing video clips, creating slideshows and convert video files. The units will be available in frosted white and graphite.
