D&H Distributing Dell Line

Round Rock, Texas — Dell has tapped D&H Distributing to provide its complete consumer product assortment to regional and online retailers.

The deal, which became effective last week, is part of the PC maker’s plan to “build out a more robust consumer retail strategy,” Dell said.

“By reaching out to the broader consumer retailer and online community, more customers across the U.S. and Canada will have access to our first class products and services,” said Kyle Dufresne, Dell’s general manager and executive director, North America retail.

Under the pact, D&H will carry Dell’s full consumer line including Alienware, Inspiron and XPS laptops and desktops, and peripherals including monitors, projectors and imaging, and accessories. D&H will distribute the products to a range of mutually agreed-upon resellers, the partners said, and is adding dedicated personnel to support new sales of the product line. Current D&H customers will have Dell product available to them by mid-month.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have D&H on board to help the Dell brand be even more present in the multiple places of our customer’s shopping journey,” said Erik Day, Dell’s North America sales director, retail, new and emerging business.

Added D&H sales senior VP Jeff Davis, “We’re honored to have been selected to support Dell’s efforts.  Our ability to penetrate a wide breadth of retail and e-tail environments will further Dell’s ubiquity in this space, creating an even more compelling presence for them in the consumer-facing markets, and strengthening the company’s strategy.”

D&H, now in its 95th year, ships out of five separate facilities in North America, including its U.S. headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa., and its Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.  Additional U.S. warehouses are located in Atlanta, Chicago and Fresno, Calif.
