RICHARDSON, TEXAS — DeviceFidelity has announced a plug-and-play solution for adding NFC secure payment capabilities to iPhones.
The company has partnered with Incipio and Otterbox to offer Isis Mobile Wallet-ready cases through AT&T retail stores.
The cases work with the free Isis Mobile Wallet app that allows consumers to store virtual versions of credit or prepaid cards, as well as offers and loyalty cards from participating retailers. DeviceFidelity said its iPhone platform is the world’s first NFC platform to be fully certified for iOS devices by Isis and major payment brands, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
The Isis Ready cases for iPhone include: the Incipio Cashwrap Mobile Wallet Case for iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5s, available in black, pink or white; the Otterbox Defender-series Mobile Wallet Case for iPhone 4 and 4S, offering NFC and ruggedized protection; and two DeviceFidelity-brand Isis-ready cases for iPhone 4 and 4S, one with an external battery charger for backup power.
“DeviceFidelity’s technology and software will now make it possible for iPhone users to tap to pay with the Isis Mobile Wallet,” said Amitaabh Malhotra, COO and co-founder of DeviceFidelity. “Enabling the Isis Mobile Wallet on iPhone is the next step in ensuring safer, more secure transactions in the hands of all consumers nationwide. Bringing this service to iPhone users is a huge step in the right direction.”
Retails range from $65 for the Base Mobile Wallet Case to $129 for the Otterbox model.
