Los Angeles — DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group has become a co-sponsor of the third annual 3D Entertainment Summit and will present four “Home 3D: Solutions and Strategies” panels at the Sept. 15-16 event.
The industry-funded nonprofit corporation, based here, promotes the consumer benefits of physical and digital home-entertainment media, including Blu-ray discs and video streaming.
The summit, presented in association with Variety, is co-produced by consulting company The Bob Dowling Group and trade-show organizer Unicomm. The 3D Entertainment Summit will be held at the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City.
Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation SKG, will be the summit’s keynote speaker.
Summit organizers describe the event as a “highly interactive, discussion-driven environment” that gives entertainment professionals “the opportunity to gain practical insight into 3D technology, market considerations, adoption rates, creative and production strategies, and talent and licensing issues to gain a better sense of how 3D relates to their future.” Attendees also get the opportunity to see demos of the latest products.
