Definitive To Hold ‘Music Matters’ Event Feb. 9

Bellevue, Wash. – Definitive
Audio will hold its sixth annual Music Matters event in Seattle.

The event, to be
held on Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m at the Definitive Audio showroom,
located at 6206 Roosevelt Way NE in Seattle, attracts some of the best high-performance
audio manufacturers in the world, the retailer said.

The event usually draws
“large and enthusiastic crowds of approximately 500,” the retailer said, with
attendees having the opportunity to see and hear upscale two-channel systems,
presented by the manufacturers, in six calibrated sound rooms.

This year,
Definitive will host Audio Research, Ayre, Bowers & Wilkins, Classe Audio, GoldenEar,
Finite Elemente, Linn, Meridian/Sooloos, HRS, Peachtree Audio, Transparent
Cable and Wilson Audio.

Highlights this
year include Wilson’s Sasha, which was named Loudspeaker of the Year by
Stereophile; Meridian’s new DSP 3200 digital active bookshelf speaker system;
the Media Core 200 digital music system; and the new VXR stereo amplifier from

Audio Research
will debut the Reference Anniversary pre-amp, and Gilad Tiefenbrun, managing director
at Linn, is traveling from Scotland to introduce the updated Akurate DS system.
Bowers and Wilkins’ senior development engineer Dr. John Dibb will travel from
Sussex, U.K., to attend.

Classé will debut the CP-800 digital
preamplifier; HRS will present the MXR Reference stand; and GoldenEar will
demonstrate the Triton Two loudspeakers, which were named Sound & Vision’s
Audio Product of the Year

“The ability to
experience high-fidelity music with the best manufactures in the world is a
very unique opportunity for attendees” comments Mark Ormiston, president of
Definitive Audio. “I’m pleased to have these manufactures commit to the travel
and expenses associated with putting on an event of this caliber at a time when
the economy still isn’t perfect. I know our customers recognize that too.”
