DBS Hits Tops 20 Mil. Sub Mark

Alexandria, Va. – The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association reported this week that 20.36 million U.S. households – or one in five U.S. TV homes – now receive their television programming through direct broadcast satellite (DBS) services.

Representatives from DirecTV and Dish Network, the nation’s two primary DBS providers, said the achievement, which was reached in less than a decade, could be attributed to advanced technologies, innovative programming, competitive costs, and superior customer service.
