D-Link Intros Gaming, Travel Routers

Las Vegas –D-Link will introduce two new routers at International CES.

The Gaming Router 5500L and the SharePort Go Plus travel router.

The Gaming Router 5500L, $269, has a Gigabit AC data transfer speed of up to 1.3GB per second in 802.11AC with another 450MB per second in 802.11N mode. The router features intelligent bandwidth allocation and comes with access to mydlink Cloud services.

The SharePort Go Plus, $119, is being marketed as a mobile travel router to set up media streaming outside the home.

The battery powered router shares data when an external storage device is plugged into the USB port. It then transmits the content to any nearby Wi-Fi enabled device that has the Shareport app installed.

The Go Plus can also act as a 2×2 wireless hotspot to share a single Internet connction.

There is also an optional camera module that can snap into the USB port. This can be used for live streaming video.

With the camera module pricing goes to $169.
