. — International CTIA Wireless 2011 reported that more than 40,000 were in attendance last month.
Preliminary figures showed that attendees from 125 countries were on hand to see the latest products and services from more than 1,000 exhibitors, and to learn about wireless futures, as well as the need for spectrum and 4G mobile broadband.
Robert Mesirow, show director/VP of CTIA, said in a statement, “The mobile industry demonstrated its strength [last week] from new devices to aggressive mobile broadband plans to demonstrating global leadership.”
The 2012 International CTIA Wireless Show will be held in New Orleans from May 8-10, and Mesirow said the event “is already more than 90 percent sold.”
