Marantz Adds Third Network Audio Player

Mahwah, N.J. – Marantz expanded its selection of component-style network-audio players to three with the addition of its first model with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The $649 NA6005, shipping in February, features high-resolution audio playback yet will be the lowest cost model in the network-player lineup, which includes the $3,499 NA-11S1 and $1,199 NA800.The new model joins the NA800 in the hi-fi components line. The NA-11S1 is in the reference hi-fi line.

Through a built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet port, the NA6005 connects to a home network to access thousands of Internet radio stations and such music streaming services as Spotify Connect. It also features Apple’s Airplay, DLNA 1.5, and decoding of WAV, WMA, MP3 and AAC music files. Support high-resolution files include DSD2.8MHz/5.6MHz, FLAC 192/24, WAV 192/24, AIFF and ALAC with gapless playback.

A front iPod/iPhone USB is included. An optical digital input connects to a TV or cable box.

The component can be controlled from Marantz’s remote app.

The audio circuitry uses Marantz’s exclusive HDAM and HDAM-SA2 technologies in a hybrid configuration “to achieve low noise and high speed for detailed and powerful playback at the same time,” the company said.
