Las Vegas – With sales of recordable DVD media gaining momentum and expected to accelerate this year, Maxell is responding to consumer demand for broader product selection in the media category with new color DVD media and an expanded variety of DVD multi-packs.
‘Consumer demand for color products and multi-pack configurations in DVD media is escalating much more quickly than it did in CD-R,’ said Peter Brinkman, vice president of marketing.
‘This is part of an overall trend toward consumers demanding greater variety in both product selection and package sizes, and we are meeting this need in DVD with new color media and a wider selection of multi-packs,’ he said.
The new multi-packs include Maxell DVD-R and DVD+R in 10-packs. In addition, the company is offering DVD+R in vibrant new colors in response to consumer demand. The company also is offering DVD media in larger spindle packs.
Maxell offers a full complement of blank DVD media, including DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R and DVD+RW formats, as well as DVD-R and DVD-RAM camcorder formats.
Responding to consumer demand for greater on-shelf variety, Maxell is adding to its line of CD-R Music and Data media products with new, larger multi-packs.
The multi-packs include a 50-Pack of CD-R Music Color in jewel cases, a 50-Piece Spindle of CD-R Music, a 25-Pack of CD-Rpro data discs in jewel cases and a 30-Pack of CD-R data media in jewel cases.
‘The consumption profile of CD-R Music and Data media is very robust and consumers are demanding a wide variety of pack configurations to meet their various needs,’ said Peter Brinkman, Maxell’s vice president of marketing.
‘In addition, retailers are looking at their shelf presentations to further support consumer demand for product variety, and two things that address this consumer need are larger pack sizes and a boarder selection of color product on shelf.’
Maxell’s CD-R line now offers product in single packages, 5-, 10-, 15-, 25-, 30-, and 50-packs and 50- and 100-piece spindles.
