Chrysler Debuts In-Car Wireless Charging

Auburn Hills, Mich. – Chrysler announced that it would offer
in-vehicle wireless charging through its Mopar brand for $199 plus
installation.

According to Chrysler, an integrated power bin with a built-in
charging grid will be installed just below the center stack and in front of the
center console. Supported devices include the iPhone, BlackBerry and Droid
smartphones, as well as MP3 players, all of which will be required to be
outfitted with a special charging case that will reportedly begin charging as
soon as the engine has started and the phone is placed on the grid.

The 2013 Dodge Dart, available in the second quarter, will be the
first vehicle with the technology.
