CES 2011: Meridian Music Server Designed For iPad

Las Vegas – High-end
audio supplier Meridian is lowering the cost of entry for a Sooloos music
server with the launch of the $4,000-suggested Media Core 200, which is sold
without a touchscreen and can be controlled via an iPad or home computers.

The server can also be controlled from any
network-based control system or such Sooloos touchscreen controllers.

“The closest
model in the line to a Media Core 200 is the C15 without the 17-inch control
panel,” product management director Ken Forsythe told TWICE. The device expands
the Sooloos media-server selection and “is designed for use primarily with an iPad,” he
said.

It will be
available in January with 500GB hard drive that stores about 1,000 CD albums in
lossless audio for touchscreen access through the Sooloos interface. It also
accesses Internet radio, including the Rhapsody service.
