VEGAS – Not only will OnStar will be available in the aftermarket, Ingram Micro
will be the master distributor of the line.
Ingram
Micro’s Consumer Electronics Division will be the master distributor for the new in-vehicle, retail OnStar
line for cars already on the road.
As
reported by TWICE on Wednesday,
will be made available via retailers including Best Buy in spring
2011, marks first foray into the retail market.
John
Soumbasakis, senior VP of strategic divisions for Ingram Micro, told TWICE that
it is registering new retailers for OnStar’s Spring launch at CES in booth 2420
in the North Hall.
He
said that 15 retailers have been signed so far and that Ingram is looking to

As the exclusive master distributor for OnStar, Ingram Micro
is responsible for strategy, tactics and execution in a number of areas
including distribution, logistics, merchandising support and other services
such as installation and technical support.

role within the company’s expansion efforts.”
Separately Ingram Micro it has been selected as the
exclusive U.S. distributor for Signeo USA’s new line of personal audio products
– SOUL by Ludacris which will be available soon in U.S. retail and online
e-tail stores.
The new brand of designer headphones were created in
collaboration with the Grammy-winning artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and will
debut nationwide with an initial five-model lineup of high definition
headphones. The SOUL by Ludacris collection will be supported exclusively by
Ingram Micro’s CE Division and made available via select U.S. retailers and
e-tailers in early 2011.
