CEA’s Shapiro To Go One-On-One With FCC Chairman

ARLINGTON, VA. – Tom Wheeler, the new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman, will join Consumer Electronics Association president and CEO Gary Shapiro for a one-on-one discussion addressing issues vital to the technology industry during the 2014 International CES

The session will take place at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), North Hall, N255-257.

“Wheeler takes the helm of the FCC at a critical time for the reallocation of spectrum for wireless broadband and other services,” Shapiro said. “We are honored that the International CES will be one of his first public appearances as the new FCC chairman and serve as the twelfth consecutive FCC Chairman SuperSession we have held at CES. I’m thrilled to welcome him to the stage to share his vision for his tenure at one of the nation’s leading regulatory agencies.”

In addition to the SuperSession, FCC Commissioners Mignon Clyburn, Jessica Rosenworcel, Ajit Pai and Mike O’Rielly will be panelists on the FCC Regulatory Agenda for 2014 session during the CES Innovation Policy Summit. The session will offer insight into their thoughts on important regulatory and policy issues, including spectrum allocation, accessibility and regulatory reform, that are dominating the conversation in 2014. This session will take place at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at the LVCC, North Hall, N254.
