Arlington, Va. – Consumer Electronics Association has hired Nick Orfanopoulos of the Orfanopoulos Group, a former senior executive at the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), as a senior advisor for the 2008 International CES’ content and entertainment community and exhibits.
“As the International CES increasingly becomes the ‘must attend’ trade show for the digital entertainment industry, Nick Orfanopoulos is the perfect fit to ensure that we continue to serve the needs of the content industry in bringing relevant exhibits, speakers and special events to the International CES,” said Karen Chupka, senior VP, events and conferences, CEA. “With more than 20 years in the television industry, we are thrilled that Orfanopoulos has come on board to offer his invaluable expertise and extensive knowledge of the content community.”
Orfanopoulos served more than 20 years with NATPE. As senior VP of NATPE’s conference operations and sales, he was instrumental in guiding the organization’s expansion and management of its annual conference, exhibition and year-round sponsorship opportunities, CEA said.
Before joining NATPE, Orfanopoulos was VP for CMC, a major producer of trade shows for numerous industries. The Orfanopoulos Group, headed by Orfanopoulos, provides strategic business development, marketing and sales services to the trade show and association community.
CES, produced by CEA, will return to Las Vegas Jan. 7-10, 2008.
