CEA Calls For ‘Mark Of Excellence’ Nominees

Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) TechHome Division is calling for entries for the 2005 Mark of Excellence Awards, a program that recognizes the people, products and companies at the forefront of innovation in the home controls and networking industry.

Each year, manufacturers, distributors and installing dealers enter to compete in 20 categories for the awards which are judged by independent experts within the industry.

The online entry process opened Oct. 18 and will continue until the Nov. 22, with judging occurring on Nov. 30.

The Mark of Excellence Awards program culminates with the Mark of Excellence Awards Banquet on Feb. 25, 2005, in Orlando, Fla., during Spring Electronic House Expo (EHX). This year, all entries received by Nov. 7 will be entered into a drawing to win a free trip to EHX-Spring, including airfare, hotel and a ticket to the Mark of Excellence Awards Banquet.

Both CEA members and non-members are eligible to submit products. The Supplier Category Awards are: audio components; distributed audio/video; human interface; installation products; integrated systems; IP-based products; lighting control; media servers; speakers; structured wiring distribution devices; structured wiring outlet/ports; training program; video components; video displays; and wireless products.

The Dealer Category Awards are: dealer of the year; home of the year; innovation award; production home of the year; and the ultimate home of the year

The eligible product, system or technology must be marketed in the United States, must have or will be shipped by Dec. 31, and must have never before been entered into the Mark of Excellence Awards program. Home installation projects must be new to the awards program and completed by Dec. 31. Complete program information is available at www.ce.org/moe.
