Catalyst AV To Carry TiVo In Custom Channel

Burlington, Mass. — Catalyst AV, a specialty A/V products distribution network, has entered into an agreement with TiVo to distribute the brand’s new TiVo Roamio series of DVRs, the TiVo Stream and the TiVo Mini.

The TiVo Roamio DVR series – which replaces TiVo’s Premiere series – consists of 3 multi-room, multisource DVRs that enable consumers to access their content from anywhere in the home, or the world, via their smartphone or tablet, the group said.

Roamio offers more recording options, higher storage capabilities, new whole-home and mobile networking options, and an updated, more elegant user interface, Catalyst said.

The TiVo products available through the Catalyst AV distribution network are:

TiVo Roamio four-tuner DVR (75 hours HD or 750 hours SD recording) $199 suggested retail;

TiVo Roamio Plus six-tuner DVR (150 hours HD or 1,000 hours SD; adds MoCA + Wi-Fi) $399;

TiVo Roamio Pro six-tuner DVR (450 hours HD or 3,000 hours SD) $599;

TiVo Stream (stream entertainment anywhere in house or world) $129; and

 TiVo Mini (access entertainment from main TiVo DVR anywhere in home), $99.99.

”TiVo’s smart suite of entertainment products meet with the lifestyles of most everyone in the home,” said Steve Presti, Catalyst AV board member and principal of Easy Access Distributing in New England. “The fact that their apps integrate into leading custom control and automation systems is hugely beneficial. This all adds up to fantastic opportunities for the integrator to earn margin on jobs that have cable TV.”

”TiVo’s new Roamio Plus and Roamio Pro were developed with today’s integrator in mind,” said Doug Bieter, consumer business sales and marketing VP at TiVo. “The Catalyst AV group has a strong understanding of video content management and distribution, and we’re delighted to have them as a conduit to the custom channel.”

Founded in 2012, Catalyst AV is a network of 12 independent consumer electronics distributors serving the residential and professional A/V channels in the U.S. It serves more than 15,000 integrators from 18 locations.

The Catalyst AV board of directors consists of Mike Hench, Electronics Source; Steve Presti, Easy Access Distribution; and Wally Whinna, Allnet Distributing.
