Casio Bows 4-Megapixel DigiCam

Dover, N.J. – The 4 megapixel ranks have expanded as Casio announced its QV-4000, a 4.1-megapixel digital camera available in August for under $1000.

The camera features a f2.0 – f2.5 optical 3x Canon zoom lens which is equivalent to 34mm to 102mm on a 35mm camera and ships with a 16MB CompactFlash card.

The QV-4000 offers Casio’s ‘Best Shot’ feature that allows users to select the icon that best reflects the imaging situation. Based on the selection, the camera will automatically select the best combination of aperture and shutter speed. The camera incorporates 5 Best Shot modes: Portrait, Scenery, Flowers, Night Scene and Digital Soft Focus. Digital Soft Focus is for portraits and flowers.

A bundled CD-Rom contains pre-recorded data for 100 backdrops to record pictures onto. By copying a scene onto a CompactFlash card, users can access scene set-ups through the camera itself and take pictures on top of it.
