Casio Adds Ultra-Short Projector

New York — Casio America recently unveiled an ultra-short-throw projector for the education market with some application for home use as well.

The Casio model XJ-UH310WN ($1,999 suggested retail) is targeted at K-12 classrooms, where teachers have a need for a projector that can be placed right up in front of the screen, to avoid students and objects interfering with the projection path, Casio said.

The XJ-UH310WN features WXGA resolution.

The throw ratio is 0:28:1, which is said to be one of the shortest in the industry.

The unit also uses Casio’s hybrid mercury-free laser and LED light source technology for longer life, brighter images (3,000 ANSI lumens) and environmental friendliness.

This contributes to a lower total cost of ownership, offering significant savings over the lifetime of the product, and low maintenance, reducing classroom downtime.

It includes a dust-resistant design with reduced image shadowing,

The projector features a host of connectivity options, including networking capability for remote monitoring, and allows wireless smartphones and computers to connect via Wi-Fi.

It offers a five-year/10,000-hour warranty on the light source, or a three years parts and labor warranty.

The XJ-UH310WN will be available through pro A/V and distribution partners nationwide.
