Car Crash Claims Newbrough

Greenwood, Ind. — Long-time CE industry veteran Jim Newbrough, 65, died from injuries sustained in a car accident Feb. 9, according to a report in the Indianapolis Star newspaper.

Newbrough had been an 18-year veteran of RCA, where he served as marketing VP for consumer electronics before joining Philips Consumer Electronics, where he served for 13 years as marketing senior VP. More recently he owned a consulting firm with a worldwide client base.

Newbrough was born Dec. 12, 1941, to the late James and Virginia Newbrough. He was a graduate of Central Tech Institute and DeVry Technical Institute and held a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Brenda Hutchinson Newbrough; their three sons, Randy and his wife Terri, Dan and his wife Lisa, and Tim and his wife Jenny; three brothers, Donald and his wife Pat, Robert and his wife Karla, and David and his wife Barbara; a sister Jeannie (Junine) Davidson Newbrough; and grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Ella, Jake, Kelly and Samantha.

Funeral services will take place Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, Ind.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery in his hometown of Mexico, Mo.
