King of Prussia, Penn. — Capitol Sales, CE and custom-installation distributor, held its Sales Learning Institute here yesterday and provided the latest details on the HDMI 1.4 specification.

During yesterday’s Capitol Sales Learning Institute — Regional Outreach program session Jeffrey A. Boccaccio, DPL Laboratories, principal and creator of the Digital Performance Level Certification program and a leading HDMI expert, provided details on the HDMI 1.4 specification that has just been released.

The new standard, which was simultaneously announced to the market at large by the HDMI Consortium, features many important new improvements, including Ethernet connectivity and Audio Return Channel for “upstream” audio connections as well as simplified audio connection between the TV and AVR, 3-D support up to 1080p, and additional color support for digital still cameras.

Jeff Kussard, Capitol Sales Company’s strategic development director, said, “Mr. Boccaccio is on the front line for HDMI category, and we’re thrilled that he was with us to share this exciting news. No doubt the new standard will receive extra attention during the remaining sessions.”
