Canon Adds Support Center In New Mexico

Melville, N.Y. — Canon Information Technology Services said Monday that it has added a new customer support center in Albuquerque, N.M.

The 33,682-square-foot facility, which is located at 4041 Jefferson Plaza NE, will provide additional customer service support and technical capabilities for Canon customers.

The center will support small-office and consumer imaging products, including digital cameras, camcorders, printers and copiers. It will also support Canon’s growing professional printing, cinema and e-commerce customers, the company said.

The support center is expected to create at least 150 call center positions over a three-year period, and hiring is scheduled to begin in early 2014, with operations anticipated to begin in April 2014.

“Expanding our support centers illustrates our continuing commitment to providing 100 percent U.S.-based customer service,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, imaging technologies and communications group, Canon USA, executive VP and general manager. “We chose Albuquerque specifically because the area has a reduced exposure to weather-related disruptions, the ability to service multiple time zones, and an educated workforce, a large percentage of which has bilingual capabilities, all of which will help us serve our customers better.”
