. introduced Tuesday the REALiS WUX4000 installation LCoS projector,
which is billed as the company’s first high-resolution projector targeting the
installation market.
The WUX4000 (shipping in March at an $8,999 suggested retail) was
said to have been designed for professional venues including conference
centers, corporate boardrooms, educational institutions, houses of worship,
medical facilities, government offices, museums, theme parks, and photo
studios.
It offers “higher-than-HD-resolution” at 1920-by-1200 pixels with
an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a 4,000 lumens brightness level.
The projector includes a fourth-generation proprietary Aspectual
Illumination System (AISYS)-enhanced LCoS optical engine, the ability to accept
three new high-resolution interchangeable Canon projection lenses, and a
motorized lens shift for installation flexibility.

ever-growing installation market is increased by the widescreen,
high-definition, large-image display capabilities of the new REALiS WUX4000
Installation LCOS Projector,” stated Yuichi Ishizuka, Canon Imaging USA general
manager and executive VP. “Customers will see the superb display performance
that has come to be expected from the REALiS product line.”
Three available lense
options include a 1.5x zoom, 0.8x ultra wide angle single focal length, and
1.7x long focus zoom. All incorporate advanced low-distortion and
high-resolution optical technologies originally developed for Canon’s EOS d-SLR
camera lenses.
Inputs include: HDMI version 1.3, DVI-D and analog PC terminals,
two audio inputs, and one audio output for external amplification and speakers.
A built-in 5-watt speaker is also included.
Five memory settings are provided for DVI-D, analog PC, and HDMI
(PC).
The other five settings are for video sources, include component
and HDMI.
A network-ready RJ-45 port allows for authorized users to manage
and control multiple projectors from any PC on the network.
