Campbell Joins Video And Audio Center; Chain Opens 3rd Store

Lawndale, Calif. – Defying the trend of rapidly disappearing
independent electronics retail operations,

Video and Audio Center

, considered
to be one of the largest A/V specialty/custom installation dealers in
California, celebrated the grand opening of its third store, here, Labor Day

Known as the South Bay Super Store, the new location is housed in
a former Blockbuster video rental storefront and is located at the corner of
Hawthorne and Redondo Beach boulevards. It will serve the greater Torrance

The chain joins two other stores including another Super Store
operation in Santa Monica, which is also the chain’s headquarters, and a
smaller location in Aguora Hills.

Underscoring the chain’s expansion ambitions, Tom Campbell,
former spokesman and consumer electronics advisor for Linder’s Furniture, has
left Linder’s to become spokesman and corporate advisor for Video and Audio
Center. He had also served in similar capacities with CompUSA, Ken Crane’s and
Dow Stereo over the past 30 years.

Video and Audio Center is growing at a time when many other
independent A/V chains are taking it on the chin from the economy and deflating
profit margins on CE goods.

The chain specializes in high performance products and systems,
and is well-known in its markets for its One-Touch home-theater system
installation services.

The company’s installer/technicians are trained on the latest
advancements in system integration, including the latest Crestron whole-home
control systems.
