Cambridge Joins HTSA, Becomes Its 53rd Dealer

Andover, Mass. — Cambridge SoundWorks has joined the Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA), becoming its 53rd member.

Cambridge, founded 17 years ago by audio pioneer Henry Kloss, is a manufacturer and direct distributor of over 70 home theater and multimedia loudspeakers, high performance radios and other audio products. The company’s branded product line has been carried by leading CE dealers, including Fry’s Electronics and Amazon.com, and is sold direct to consumers via Cambridge’s Web site, catalog, call center and chain of 23 retail stores centered in New England and the San Francisco Bay area. The retail outlets, which specialize in home theater solutions, custom installation and personal audio, carry a mix of Cambridge and other popular brands, and enjoyed sales of $123 million in 2003 according to TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers rankings.

The company’s products are also sold internationally by corporate parent Creative Technology Ltd.

“The addition of Cambridge SoundWorks to HTSA builds on our mission to offer our vendors access to the finest and most experienced audio/video retail businesses in the country,” said HTSA’s executive director Richard Glikes. “Our strengths and weaknesses complement one another. We will grow, learn and prosper together.”

Cambridge’s membership in the high-end A/V buying group follows the additions earlier this month of dealers Barney Miller’s of Lexington, Ky., and Paragon Technologies Group in Basalt, Colo.
