City of Industry, Calif. — Cadence replaced its ZRS car-speaker series with the higher performance QRS series of six models priced from a suggested $122 to $395 per pair.
The series consists of the QRS52 5.25inch two-way coax at $122/pair, the QRS65 6.5-inch two-way coax at $136/pair, the QRS57 5x7/6x8-inch three-way at $149/pair, and the QRS69 6x9-inch two-way coax at $221/pair. The series also includes the QRS6K2 6.5-inch two-way component kit at $286/pair and the QRS6K3 6.5-inch three-way component kit at $395 with 2.5-inch neodymium midrange driver.
All feature woven Kevlar cones, butyl rubber surrounds and silk-dome tweeters to provide smooth detailed frequency response, the company said. The tweeters use neodymium magnets to deliver detailed sound without unwanted harshness, the company added. Mylar capacitors are used for the crossovers to reduce distortion and deliver high power handing.
All feature high-strength stamped-steel baskets and heavy-duty screw-down terminals.
