BrandSource, PSA Form Partnership

Anaheim, Calif. – BrandSource’s
services arm and the Professional Service Association (PSA) have formed a new
partnership that will enable their members to share in a wide assortment of programs
and benefits.

The shared offerings include standards-based
technical training and certification for the buying group’s servicing dealers,
and insurance programs for PSA.

BrandSource Service provides a large
portfolio of business services including referrals, extended-service policies, and
insurance to help members operate a successful service business. “BrandSource
is committed to thinking outside of the box and finding new ways to bring
enhanced membership options and privileges to its members,” said BrandSource CEO
Bob Lawrence. “The collaboration between PSA and BrandSource is a very positive
step in that direction.”

Formed in 1989, PSA provides
educational training for the appliance service industry and collaborates with
top vocational and trade schools to help prepare graduates for a career in the
appliance service field. It said it also offers the only internationally
accredited certification program for appliance service technicians.

PSA also offers a variety of tools
to help owners or managers operate their service businesses, including its cost
of doing business (CODB) flat-rate service labor price book, an online forum
for mutual assistance in everyday problems facing the independent servicer, and
a massive service library available to members on flash drive or CD.

The organization also hosts an
annual convention where attendees have the opportunity to address industry
issues, improve management skills and expand their technical knowledge.

“PSA is very excited about this new
relationship, and we look forward to the mutual rewards, offerings and benefits
for members of both associations through this collaboration,” said PSA
president Don Holman.
