Montreal, Canada — Brand Source, the $4 billion-plus buying and marketing organization for independent white- and brown-goods dealers, has announced the formation of a Canadian affiliate.
Brand Source Canada, based here, will offer a range of services to Canadian retailers which are comparable to its United States counterpart, including training, a cross-dock ordering program and cobranding campaigns under the Brand Source umbrella.
The organization is headed by Jacques Lecavalier, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the buying group business.
The first new division to be launched will be a Home Entertainment Specialist unit for specialty A/V dealers, followed closely by a furniture and appliance division.
The new group has also signed a strategic partnership with Stereo Plus, a 70-dealer franchise/banner retail program for small- to midsized markets that will provide a turnkey retail solution to Brand Source Canada members. Stereo Plus also operates a Zone Electronic program for furniture and appliance dealers, and a Performance Plus program for the mobile A/V market.
