Boost, Virgin To Offer Galaxy S5

New York – Sprint’s no-contract brands Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile will offer the Samsung Galaxy S5 sometime in the second quarter of the year, Sprint announced.

Pricing wasn’t announced.

The Samsung flagship phones will feature Sprint Spark network service, which combines 4G LTE across Sprint’s 800 MHz, 1,900 MHz and 2.5 GHz bands. Spark delivers peak wireless speeds of 60Mbps on capable devices and offers the potential for three-times faster speeds by late 2015, Sprint said. Spark is currently available in 16 markets out of the carrier’s 382 LTE markets.

Samsung previously said the S5 would be available beginning April 11 in almost 150 countries, including the U.S. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint previously announced plans to offer the phone.

The adds stepped-up Wi-Fi and LTE performance, faster CPU, fingerprint scanner, enhanced camera capabilities, fitness tools and other enhancements over the S4.
