– Blue Microphones has introduced the second generation of its Mikey
microphone.
Billed as a
plug-and-play, CD-quality mic for the iPod, iPhone and Touch, the Mikey 2G features
a USB pass-through connection to allow for charging during use and a 3.5mm
line-input for direct recording of other sound sources.
It’s said to have a
230-degree range of adjustability with seven detent positions, as well as three
selectable gain settings. Recordings can be uploaded to iTunes after
downloading an app.
Although it’s not
currently compatible with the iPad or the iPhone 4, Blue Microphones said a
version “is on the radar.”
Suggested retail is
$79.99, which includes a carrying pouch. The Mikey 2G will be available Nov.
