The Big Screen Store Joins The PRO Group

Des Plaines, Ill. –
The Big Screen Store, a 14-store chain with locations in Maryland and Virginia,
has joined the Progressive Retailers Organization (PRO Group), giving the
buying group 18 members.

The Big Screen Store

Cary Luskin said
the chain joined PRO earlier this month and that he felt PRO “aligns us with
[retailers] that have a similar mindset in this business.”

When asked how the
market is, Cary Luskin noted, “Business is fine, but the winter was tough since
we were in the epicenter of blizzards with 84 inches [in Baltimore and northern
Virginia]. There was a blizzard on Black Friday and the week before the Super
Bowl.”

When asked about
3D TV, he said the chain is carrying it and “we are demonstrating units in our
stores. So far there has been a strong interest in it.”

The Luskin family
is no stranger to the CE business or buying groups. Luskin’s, which was founded
by Cary and Kevin’s father

Jack

from the 1940s until the 1990s, and was a founding member of the NATM Buying
Group.

The PRO Group will
