Minneapolis — Former Sony senior VP/general manager Michael Vitelli will join Best Buy March 1 as senior VP/consumer electronics and product management.
Vitelli, who resigned last December after 23 years with Sony, assumes the CE duties previously held by George Danko, who continues to head home appliances as senior VP/home essentials and business team resources.
In addition, executive VP Mike London has been reassigned from Best Buy’s customer centricity initiative to serve as executive VP/global resourcing, a new position, and Michael Mohan, formerly Good Guys’ VP/merchandising and general merchandise manager, has joined the chain as VP/digital imaging.
Succeeding Mohan at Good Guys is Tim Coakley, who was promoted to merchandising director from audio merchandising manager. Assuming Coakley’s previous post is John Chin, who has returned to Good Guys from Monster Cable.
