Best Buy Readies 4 Exclusive Smartphones

Minneapolis – Best
Buy Mobile said it will offer four smartphones with various levels of
exclusivity, including the Android-based Dell Streak and the HTC Surround with Windows
Phone 7 OS, the company said.

Two other
exclusives include the white version of the SonyEricsson Xperia X10 with bundled
Taylor Swift content and a white version of the Samsung Fascinate. Both use the
Android OS.

All four are
available for presale today at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores as well
as at

BestBuy.com/Mobile.

They
arrive in stores this month or early next.

The

HTC
Surround

will be the first smartphone that Best Buy will offer with the
Windows Phone 7 OS. It operates on the AT&T network and will be available
in Best Buy Nov. 8 at $199 with new two-year activation. The phone will be
available later that month through AT&T stores. It features slide-out
stereo speakers and kickstand for watching video beneath its 3.8-inch touch
screen.

The

Dell
Streak

, which is also available direct through Dell’s website, will be in
Best Buy stores Oct. 24 at $299 with two-year contract. The 5-inch tablet-style
device, which doubles as a cellphone to make voice calls, operates on the
AT&T network. Features include 5-inch touchscreen, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon
processor, two cameras for video chatting and assisted GPS.

The white

SonyEricsson
X10

on the AT&T network will retail for $99 with a new two-year
activation and will be in Best Buy outlets on Oct. 24 with a media pack
consisting of Taylor Swift’s self-titled and “Fearless” albums, her new single “Mine,”
a ringtone and a music video. Consumers also get all of her songs from the new
“Speak Now” CD on its Oct. 25 release day. An included accessory pack has a skin
and matching headphones.

 The Android-based X10 features 8.1-megapixel
camera, 4-inch WVGA capacitive touch display and 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

Fascinate

from Samsung will be available in an exclusive white version on Oct. 24 at $149.
The phone, designed for the Verizon network, features 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen,
1GHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, 720 HD video capture and 16GB SD card.
