Minneapolis — Best Buy is aiming to educate back-to-school shoppers with a series of 30-minute live chats targeted at parents and teens with technology questions.
The chats, which will take place at www.AskaBlueShirt.com, are intended to bring the knowledge and expertise of the company’s store employees online. The employees, or “Blue Shirts,” will help the customers figure out which products might meet their specific needs.
The Sessions will take place Aug. 27 at 8pm EST, Aug. 29 at 9pm EST and Aug 31 at 1pm EST. Chat participants will have the opportunity to submit questions before or during the session and the transcripts will be posted on the site after the sessions are concluded.
In addition to the chats, the site will offer a variety of features intended to bring the in-store experience to the Web including advice similar to the advice customers would receive in-store, shopping tips, gift ideas, information on technology trends and more.
