Minneapolis – Best Buy is now offering 99-cent shipping for most of its online
assortment as part of its holiday push.
The limited-time offer
covers items that can be shipped via standard service by UPS, the U.S. Postal
Service and other carriers, and excludes large items that require scheduled
delivery, such as major appliances, select entertainment furniture, outdoor
furniture and fitness equipment.
The promotion follows an expansive
97-cent holiday shipping offer by

and free delivery options on a wide array of merchandise at Amazon.com.
Best Buy is also adding
“Deal of the Day” offers, which are popular on
and other e-tail sites, and is guaranteeing Christmas delivery for qualifying
orders placed by 11:00 a.m. EST Dec. 21.
The retailer said its e-commerce
site “has evolved to meet the changing needs of its customers … as consumers
look for value and convenience from retailers this holiday season.”
“We know that consumers are looking online to
find the best deals this holiday season,” said John Thompson, senior VP of
BestBuy.com. “Whether consumers end up buying online or in store, we want to
provide all the tools necessary for them to find the right gifts in a way
that’s most fitting with their needs.”
