Minneapolis - Best Buy has added the premium Bosch brand to its major appliance assortment and is providing private-label Insignia TVs to its home team Minnesota Twins.
The retailer will limit the high-end Bosch line to laundry products and dishwashers, but will offer the vendor's freestanding ranges, over-the-range microwaves and refrigeration by special order.
According to Best Buy's home life VP Liz Haesler, the assortment expansion was prompted by customer demand. "We see Bosch as a natural addition to our
department," she noted, "as we share their vision to bring the consumer a high-quality, high-efficiency appliance option."
Indeed, Bosch, a division of Germany's BSH Bosch and Siemens Home Appliance Group, has positioned itself as the only U.S.-manufactured brand with entire product lines of Energy Star-qualified dishwashers, washers and refrigeration. Its commitment to the environment, from green manufacturing to
performance, has earned it the Department of Energy's Energy Star Partner of the Year Award for Appliances for two consecutive years, and Bosch recently launched a "Green Technology Inside" icon and designation to make it easier for shoppers to identify its most efficient appliances.

which use only 13 gallons of water per load thanks to a network of sensors that monitor and adjust the cycle for optimized operation, and dishwashers with an EcoSense feature that analyzes soil levels in the water and customizes the cycle to save on water and energy.
Elsewhere, Best Buy recently inked a multiyear partnership with the Minnesota Twins, making it the team's Official High Definition Television (HDTV) partner. As part of the deal, the retailer's Best Buy For Business unit and Insignia brand team provided more than 450 custom-built, HD and IP LCD-TVs in 32-inch, 42-inch and 65-inch screen sizes throughout the Twins' new state-of-the-art home stadium, Target Field.
