Notebook maker Averatec has launched its 4100 series of thin and light laptops based on AMD’s Turion 64 mobile processor.
The 4100 series, which weighs in at 4.7-pounds and is 1-inch thin, is available immediately from Best Buy, Circuit City and Costco with a $1,099 street price.
The model is based on a 13.3-inch WXGA display with AveraBrite technology, 512MB of memory, an 80GB hard drive, a multiformat DVD burner, Wi-Fi and three USB ports. The device incorporates Averatec’s PowerNow battery conservation technology.
